Senior Associate - Model Validation & AI Governance

We’re looking for a highly analytical and detail-oriented professional to join our client's team as a Senior Associate - Model Validation & AI Governance. In this role, you’ll act as a critical peer reviewer for models developed by data scientists—ensuring they are robust, compliant, and free from bias before going into production.

We’re looking for a highly analytical and detail-oriented professional to join our client's team as a Senior Associate - Model Validation & AI Governance. In this role, you’ll act as a critical peer reviewer for models developed by data scientists—ensuring they are robust, compliant, and free from bias before going into production.
What You’ll Do
- Review and test machine learning and statistical models prior to deployment
- Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards, with a strong focus on bias and fairness
- Collaborate cross-functionally with data scientists, ML engineers, data engineers, and product/project managers
- Communicate complex technical findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
What We’re Looking For
- Strong technical expertise (Python preferred; R or other statistical languages considered with solid AI knowledge)
- Advanced degree (Master’s minimum; PhD in Statistics strongly preferred)
- Experience in model validation, ideally within banking or financial services
- Data scientists with a strong interest in model validation are also encouraged to apply
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills
What Success Looks Like (First 6 Months)
- Quickly understand the models and workflows, particularly within the life insurance domain
- Build strong working relationships across teams and with leadership
- Begin contributing to and delivering impactful validation projects
Work Environment
- Hybrid setup with a preference for candidates who can be in the office three days per week in New York
