Overview
Our client is a leading financial services organisation looking to hire a Principal Software Engineer to support the development of a next-generation Digital Asset platform.
This is an opportunity to join a growing engineering team and play a key role in designing and building innovative technology solutions within the digital assets space.
The position will focus on developing scalable, secure and reliable systems using blockchain and distributed ledger technology (DLT), helping the business expand its digital asset capabilities and modernise its technology infrastructure.
The successful candidate will be technically hands-on, comfortable making architectural decisions and interested in working with emerging technologies in a complex enterprise environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and implement scalable digital asset solutions using blockchain and distributed ledger technology.
• Lead the technical design and development of enterprise-grade digital asset applications and services.
• Build and integrate distributed applications, microservices and REST APIs.
• Design, develop and implement smart contract-based solutions.
• Collaborate with engineering teams, architects and business stakeholders to define technical requirements and deliver solutions.
• Make key architectural decisions around scalability, performance, security and reliability.
• Provide technical leadership through code reviews, design discussions and mentoring engineers.
• Support the integration of digital asset technologies with existing enterprise platforms and systems.
• Improve engineering practices across testing, automation, deployment and release management.
• Stay up to date with developments in blockchain, digital assets and emerging technologies.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, with a strong background in designing and building enterprise applications.
• Hands-on experience working with enterprise blockchain platforms and distributed ledger technology.
• Experience designing, developing and implementing smart contracts.
• Strong understanding of digital assets, blockchain infrastructure and related technologies.
• Experience designing and building distributed systems, microservices and REST APIs.
• Strong programming skills and experience with object-oriented software development.
• Experience working with databases, data processing and messaging technologies.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, system integration and application scalability.
• Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP.
• Ability to remain hands-on with development while providing technical direction to other engineers.
• Strong communication skills and experience working with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
