An exciting freelance opportunity is now open to contribute to a transformative project in the European energy sector. We're looking for a seasoned .NET Developer to join a forward-thinking team driving sustainability, innovation, and reliable power infrastructure across borders.
Logistics:
- Position: Freelance .NET Developer (Backend Focus – 80% BE / 20% FE)
- Duration: 9-Month Contract (strong extension potential)
- Location: Brussels (Hybrid – up to 3 days remote)
- Languages: English AND French or Dutch
- Start Date: ASAP
- Day Rate: €(Negotiable & Competitive)
- Design and implement robust .NET solutions for systems handling advanced energy calculations
- Collaborate with internal teams and contingent experts on a highly impactful project in the energy transition space
- Maintain and improve application performance, monitoring, and traceability
- Ensure code quality and adherence to engineering standards (e.g. clean code principles, DRY, YAGNI)
- Contribute to the evolution of a sustainable, green IT architecture that supports energy reliability and economic growth
- Strong proficiency in C#, .NET, and SQL Server/T-SQL
- Hands-on experience with OpenAPI/Swagger and Blazor
- Knowledge of Splunk for logging and monitoring
- Solid grounding in software best practices: clean code, version control, unit testing
- Comfortable in mathematically complex environments and performance-sensitive systems
- Experience with microservices, DevOps, CI/CD, and Azure
- Exposure to React, Angular (v17+), or TypeScript
- Understanding of tracing, logging, coverage tools (e.g. SonarQube)
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, messaging systems (Kafka/MQ), or cloud-native architectures
- Knowledge of functional programming, big data, or asynchronous/concurrent design is a plus
- Proven ability to deliver high-quality backend solutions in fast-moving, high-stakes environments
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate in diverse, multilingual teams
- Strong sense of accountability and a passion for clean, scalable architecture
- Flexibility and adaptability in a cross-national project environment
