We’re looking for a freelance .NET Architect to join a leading European energy infrastructure company driving the transition to a sustainable and reliable electricity system.

 

You’ll take a technical leadership role within a key asset management portfolio, guiding experienced .NET teams to design and deliver complex, high-performance applications. This is ideal for a senior .NET professional who enjoys hands-on architecture, mentoring, and shaping scalable solutions in a mission-critical environment.

 

Logistics

  • Position: Freelance .NET Architect
  • Duration: 12-month contract (extension likely)
  • Day Rate: €(Competitive & Negotiable)
  • Location: Brussels, Belgium (Hybrid - 2 days onsite / 3 days remote)
  • Start Date: ASAP
 

Core Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership for multiple .NET teams within the Asset domain.
  • Design and maintain target architectures for WPF and MAUI-based applications.
  • Oversee mobile (.NET MAUI/iOS) development, including background services (geolocation, geofencing).
  • Support and challenge developers on architecture and design decisions.
  • Lead technical sessions with developers and architects to align on solutions.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners and Tech Leads to ensure technical feasibility and architectural consistency.
  • Maintain software quality, scalability, and maintainability across products.
 

Essential Skills & Experience

  • 4+ years’ experience as a .NET Architect or Technical Lead.
  • Expertise in C#, .NET, and microservices-based architecture.
  • Practical experience with:
  • WPF / .NET MAUI (including iOS build & deployment)
  • SQL / MongoDB
  • RabbitMQ, Hangfire, Dapr, Clean Architecture
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills.
  • Experience leading Full Stack .NET teams in Agile/Scrum.
  • Fluent in English, with good knowledge of Dutch or French.

  • Clear communicator who can translate technical topics for non-technical audiences.
  • Strong team leadership and coordination abilities.
  • Structured, analytical, and proactive in managing priorities.
  • Keen to explore new technologies and share insights.
