About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Solution Architect to join a leading bank in Brussels on a 12-month freelance contract. In this role, you will design and deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing technology solutions that support critical banking operations and digital transformation initiatives.
You’ll work closely with business stakeholders, engineering teams, and senior leadership to translate complex requirements into robust architectural designs aligned with regulatory and security standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design end-to-end architecture solutions across core banking systems and digital platforms
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define technical requirements and roadmap strategies
- Ensure solutions meet security, compliance, and regulatory standards (e.g., GDPR, financial regulations)
- Guide development teams through implementation, ensuring architectural integrity
- Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies to enhance system performance and scalability
- Maintain architecture documentation and governance processes
- Proven experience as a Solution Architect within the banking or financial services sector
- Strong knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF)
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Solid understanding of APIs, microservices, and distributed systems
- Familiarity with security best practices and financial compliance requirements
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience with core banking systems or payments platforms
- Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
- Architecture certification(s) (TOGAF, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, etc.)
