About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Enterprise Architect to join a leading bank in Brussels on a 12-month freelance contract. In this role, you will define and drive the overall architecture strategy, ensuring alignment between business objectives and technology across the organisation.
You’ll work closely with senior leadership, business stakeholders, and IT teams to shape long-term architectural vision, governance, and standards while supporting key transformation initiatives.

About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Enterprise Architect to join a leading bank in Brussels on a 12-month freelance contract. In this role, you will define and drive the overall architecture strategy, ensuring alignment between business objectives and technology across the organisation.
You’ll work closely with senior leadership, business stakeholders, and IT teams to shape long-term architectural vision, governance, and standards while supporting key transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and maintain the enterprise architecture roadmap aligned with business strategy
- Establish architectural standards, frameworks, and governance processes
- Provide strategic guidance across domains (business, application, data, and technology)
- Ensure alignment and integration across core banking systems and digital platforms
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into architectural direction
- Assess and recommend emerging technologies to support innovation and scalability
- Oversee solution designs to ensure consistency with enterprise architecture principles
- Proven experience as an Enterprise Architect within the banking or financial services sector
- Strong knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF)
- Broad understanding of IT domains including applications, data, infrastructure, and security
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Strong knowledge of integration patterns, APIs, and distributed systems
- Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements in financial services
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Experience with core banking systems or payments platforms
- Knowledge of DevOps practices and modern delivery models
- Relevant certifications (TOGAF, cloud architecture certifications, etc.)
