Freelance Enterprise Architect – Brussels (Hybrid)
We are looking for an experienced Freelance Enterprise Architect to join a major organisation in Brussels on a strategic transformation programme. This role will focus on ensuring alignment between business objectives and technology strategy, while supporting the design and governance of enterprise-wide architecture.
You will work closely with senior stakeholders, architecture teams, and delivery teams to help guide architectural decisions, promote best practices, and ensure scalable and sustainable IT solutions.

This role will focus on ensuring alignment between business objectives and technology strategy, while supporting the design and governance of enterprise-wide architecture.
You will work closely with senior stakeholders, architecture teams, and delivery teams to help guide architectural decisions, promote best practices, and ensure scalable and sustainable IT solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide enterprise architecture guidance across multiple initiatives and technology domains.
- Support and facilitate architecture governance processes, including Architecture Review Boards and architectural decision documentation.
- Define and maintain enterprise architecture standards, principles, and reference architectures.
- Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable architectural solutions.
- Promote the adoption of modern architecture practices, including cloud-native patterns and platform governance models.
- Guide teams in aligning their solutions with the overall enterprise architecture roadmap.
- 10+ years of experience in Enterprise Architecture or senior architecture roles within complex IT environments.
- Strong understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks and methodologies such as TOGAF, ArchiMate, and ITIL.
- Experience working with modern architecture approaches, including microservices and event-driven architectures.
- Demonstrated ability to engage with stakeholders across business and technology teams.
- Experience using architecture modelling and documentation tools such as Sparx Enterprise Architect, LeanIX, or similar platforms.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly explain architecture concepts to diverse audiences.
- Self-driven and pragmatic approach with the ability to operate effectively in large, complex organisations.
- Experience supporting large transformation or modernisation programmes.
- Exposure to cloud architecture and platform governance practices.
- Experience working within agile delivery environments.
