Exciting freelance opportunity with a leading energy infrastructure partner! We're looking for an experienced Data Integration Engineer to contribute to cutting-edge projects within the energy sector, focusing on data-driven solutions for sustainability and operational efficiency. Core Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and implement data pipelines to integrate complex data sources into a unified system.

  • Ensure efficient and scalable data processing, focusing on quality, security, and reliability.

  • Work with microservices, messaging platforms like Kafka and RabbitMQ, to facilitate communication between different data components.

  • Collaborate closely with product teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

  • Support the optimization of data storage and ensure the implementation of non-functional requirements (e.g., stability, resilience).

  • Drive data integration efforts within an agile environment, promoting continuous improvement and innovation.

  • Develop and maintain documentation for data workflows, processes, and system architecture.

Essential Skills:
  • Solid experience with C# and .NET for backend development and integration.

  • Strong knowledge of data pipeline design and data flow management.

  • Practical experience working with messaging platforms such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.

  • Familiarity with microservices architecture, including pros/cons and implementation best practices.

  • Experience with cloud-based tools for data processing, e.g., Azure Databricks or equivalent.

  • Strong understanding of data storage techniques, performance optimization, and data security.

  • Ability to work in an agile environment, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and engage in iterative development.

  • Proficiency in English, with additional fluency in French or Dutch highly desirable.

Desirable Skills:
  • Knowledge of Azure services such as Azure Functions, Azure Data Factory, or Azure Stream Analytics.

  • Familiarity with data governance tools and frameworks (e.g., Data Lineage, Data Quality).

  • Experience with DevOps principles, including automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and version control (Git).

  • Understanding of data integration tools like Redis, Neo4j, or Apache Arrow.

  • Power BI experience is a plus for data visualization and reporting.

  • Strong understanding of data architecture best practices for industrial-grade, scalable systems.
