You will play a key role in maintaining and modernising critical core banking systems that process high-volume financial transactions daily. Key Responsibilities
- Maintain, enhance, and support COBOL-based core banking applications
- Analyse business requirements and translate them into technical specifications
- Perform impact analysis, development, testing, and deployment
- Ensure system reliability, performance, and compliance with banking regulations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including analysts, testers, and infrastructure teams
- Support incident resolution and provide long-term system improvements
- Contribute to modernisation initiatives and integration with newer technologies
- 3+ years of experience in COBOL development
- Strong knowledge of Mainframe environments (z/OS)
- Experience with JCL, DB2, CICS
- Understanding of batch processing and transaction systems
- Familiarity with version control and structured development methodologies
- Experience working in Agile or hybrid delivery environments
- Prior experience in banking or financial services is highly desirable
- Experience in core banking systems or payment platforms
- Knowledge of system integration with Java or distributed applications
- French or Dutch language skills
- Experience in application modernisation projects
